A Word About Oracles and the New Jerusalem

About this weblog:

To many people, what's written on these pages may seem unusual. Some things are written to one person, most are written to all. Many people read this journal, in all walks of life. It's like tv or radio: when you turn it on, it's there. I have no real idea who reads it.

Much of it is a journal of thoughts and personal inquiries I undergo throughout my days. These "thoughts" are not necessarily representative of my opinions, but may well reveal what I consider when contemplating a variety of issues. Or just some of those odd thoughts you might have but don't normally say...

If you think what I say applies to you, then it does, though it probably didn't.

I wanted to say a few things about oracles.

First, an oracle is not to be construed as a replacement for prayer and faith. There are so many things that could be considered oracles, whether it be the way people respond to you or a vehicle breaking down, as a way to tell you you need to take better care of it if you expect it to be reliable.

I talked about the I Ching before... I want to make something clear. I don't use the I Ching as something I have faith in. I am mostly amused by it. What I do see in it, though, in times when it appears accurate, that it is an indication of things I need to take action upon myself. It is not an indicator that things are a certain way, pre-ordinated or written in stone.

It is simply an indication of things as they currently stand, in that moment, in the realm of chaos theory. In other words, if I'm in a bad mood, and do an I Ching reading, and get something from the reading, my mood may change.

If I did a reading again, after the mood change, the reading would immediately be quite different, depending upon the action I've taken myself.

It's like the song "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby and the Range - "That's just the way it is, oh don't you believe it...". The change will come from you, not by some external force. Don't expect a white knight to ride up and save you, relieving you of any responsibility to change things or save yourself.

Nothing is fixed. Only your attitude is, should you desire it to be. Just be sure to take responsibility for it yourself.

About the New Jerusalem.

I've given it a great deal of thought, and decided maybe I should offer some clarification. It might seem that I am denying the covenants and such of the Bible toward Israel and the Jewish people. I'm really not.

In the coming Kingdom of God, God will most certainly embrace the Israelis and Palestinians - so long as they choose to accept and act upon their given roles and commitments of faith and promise. Their struggles and strife will be over, should they choose to resume their faith and commitments as originally ordained.

For the moment, accept that the primary, immediate requirement of God is not for "non-Christian" Religions to give up their religions. [Todd Rundgren - Eastern Intrigue]

The first step for harmony between religions to is to simply accept that we all worship the same God. There is only one God. [Daniel Nahmod - One Power]

However, the work of the world - the full transformation of the world - must begin from the currently established seat of global power. At this time, that means the United States, and therefore, New York. Notice, I didn't say Washington D.C. There are reasons for that which I won't go into now.

When I say that New York is the New Jerusalem, I say that in an allegorical way. In other words, there will most definitely be a New Jerusalem in Israel... it's part of God's promise. But, it won't (necessarily) just happen. It's part of a process.

It could be an easy process or a difficult process. If the Israelis and Palestinians do not choose to determine their own futures by accepting and respecting God's plan, then it means that any particular protections offered by God will be removed for such time that the hardship becomes so unbearable that they surrender to an intercessor. [Hank Williams - Your Cheatin' Heart]

I said that I was available at any time to provide consultation. [George Harrison - Pisces Fish] I want to make something clear, though. I am not available to people who have rejected God's plan or ascribe to violence and economic coercion - in order to be persuaded that their methods are the way to deal with the situation.

Those methods and practices will only create the conditions for Armageddon. The Israelis - by the doctrine God gave them - know what they must do - if they would practice that doctrine, and abandon the compromises made for the sake of commercial and political "advances". That is free will in action.

If you believe that I am saying that it is primarily up to the Israelis, you would be correct. They were selected to be the Chosen People in order to lead. Leading does not mean dominate, despite the predictions of religious scholars who say that the Kingdom of God will be delivered by force. [George Michael - Praying for Time]

Remember, the right of vengeance is God's. Free will means the opportunity to make good choices, as well as those which may be considered sin. [Tommy James & the Shondells - Sweet Cherry Wine]

And, what is truly up to them is accepting that they must make policy based upon doing the right things. That is incredibly important.

The recent announcement that a number of nations are considering an "anti-apartheid-like" boycott of Israel because of the wall being constructed to divide them from the Palestinians, as well as their continued policy of attacking the Palestinians instead of seeking ways to aid their neighbors, is the first indication of a movement of Gentile nations to amass against them. It's economic coercion. But it's the beginning, and must be heeded.

Don't think for a moment that I'm letting the Palestinians off the hook. Or any other organization that supports a violent means of "diplomacy". [Duran Duran - A View To A Kill]

It's part of what the Bible calls the effects of Gentile domination - captivity and stewardship by other, more powerful nations - as well as the dispersion of Jews unto all the nations who become caught up in cultural habits that remove them from the [Chicago - Old Days] habits and mores that defined their cultural habits as part of the Chosen People.

I'm not talking about an old, austere ways of being where people get stoned for indiscretions. I'm talking about true justice based on the Golden Rule. [Todd Rundgren - Just One Victory]

We live in the times of the New Testament, not the Old Testament, and there is quite a difference. I'll talk about that another time. There is a great deal of good in the Old Testament, but it's like old software, or a prototype that's had major changes and upgrades.

Its always hard to integrate new systems and rules, but the enhancements are nearly always worth the conversion. Especially when they're designed by God.

Furthermore, the various covenants should be viewed as paradigms, the terms of which are not absolute. The promises will be kept, but the specific, individual, perceived and interpreted "line items" may well be a little different than you think.

It does not mean that New York replaces Israel as the base of the Kingdom of God, or anything like that. It means that the work must be done where it needs to be done.

Of course, that would point directly at the need for the United Nations to do its work. As the Pope recently said, to truly follow the policies of the United Nations - as opposed to giving into the demands of a few powerful nations and their individual commercial and political interests.

Interestingly enough, this is another area where I agree with George W. Bush regarding issues he brings up, but where I totally disagree with his policies and agendas. As I always say, any tool can be a good thing or a bad thing, dependent upon the intent of the person putting them to use, and the purposes they are to serve. [Peter, Paul & Mary - If I Had A Hammer]

This, once again, speaks to the anti-thetical nature of the "relationship" of him to me, in terms of positions and policies, as well as the inherent nature of us as individuals.

I still have hope and faith that he and I will reconcile those differences. That would truly serve God's plan. I'm glad he knows my desire to accomplish that reconciliation.

[Phil Collins - This Love, This Heart]
